Northbound shipping FAQsYou will need a completed Canada Customs Invoice (or equivalent) for any commercial shipments into Canada. You may also need a commercial invoice, a bill of lading and any applicable customs declaration forms. This may include Form B3, the customs coding and a cargo control document. If you are shipping food or health-related goods, you’ll likely need specific permits, examinations or certificates for food and health-related goods. As a U.S. exporter, you may work with a customs broker for assistance with customs clearance. You can find the necessary customs forms on our website. Navigate to the "U.S. and International Shipping section" and from there, the"Forms and Documentation" section. There you will find a selection of forms that you can download and fill out as required for your shipment. The amount of duties and taxes depends on the value and nature of the goods being shipped. Customs authorities assess these charges based on the information provided in the commercial invoice and other relevant documents. It’s important to accurately declare the value of your goods to ensure proper assessment and compliance with customs regulations. |
